How to link my eTA number and MYCIC account ?

Types that Canadian Government Requests Additional Information

I will explain how to solve the situation when the status becomes "Pending" after applying for Canada eTA and the types of information required.
For items requested by the Canadian Government, the following items are available.

Travel Schedule (Itinerary)
Letter of Explanation (Explanation of reasons to come to Canada)
Police Certificate (criminal care certificate)
Court Document (Court Record Certificate)
Medical Certificate


■ Travel Schedule (Itinerary)

Filling in the English text is necessary for the creation and submission of itinerary.
The earliest approval will be obtained among the items required by additional information.
If you are unfamiliar with PC operation or smartphone operation (such as elderly people) as a problem, I think that there are things you do not know even if you introduce tools etc.
Since it is possible to submit even a thing created by someone on behalf of creation of itinerary, please keep the itinerary created by proxy in PDF format and upload from the MYCIC account of the Canadian government.
If you can not create it by all means please consult with the Canadian Embassy once and ask for suggestions such as submission method.
The eTA's examination results are often updated in about 1 to 2 days after sending is complete.
Let's wait for contact from the Canadian government as it may take longer than that.


■ Letter of Explanation (Explanation of reasons to come to Canada)

We may write "Letter of Explanation" when applying for Canadian student visa or work visa.


■ Police Certificate (Criminal Candidate Certificate)

Criminal career certificates can be issued at police stations in each prefecture.
Since there are places specified for each prefecture, people in Tokyo can issue a criminal career certificate at the HP of the Metropolitan Police Department.


■ Court Document (trial record certificate)

Actually I can not get a certificate if I get to the nearest court.
There are two ways to issue court record certificates, civil and criminal, and each acquisition method is different. ■ Medical Certificate (Medical Certificate)

Those who acquired a Canadian visa earlier and who stayed in Canada for a period longer than 6 months may be asked for a medical examination. If you need to send additional information to the government, you must link the MYCIC account with the eTA number (V number).

Since the V number is a reservation number sent from the government after the Canadian eTA is applied, let us confirm that the Canadian government has contacted the email address you used when you applied.

MYCIC account creation method · Example

After creating GCKEY, next we will create a MYCIC account.
Please create a MYCIC account based on the image below.

* Please note that it will be explained at the stage of creating GCKEY already.
Create according to the example of filling in the image.


1, I agree to the Terms of Use / notes on MYCIC account creation
There are notes similar to the creation of GCKEY.
I agree with this and I will create an account.

Click "I accept" in the red frame


2, Enter user information
Enter the name on your passport.

Select "Yes" because "Are you 16 years of age or older" is a confirmation of being over 16 years old.
Please enter the address of your computer so that you can receive mail addresses without fail.
Please note that you may not be able to receive it by mail filter in the case of carrier carriers such as smartphones.

Select the language.
Since English is selected in the default state, it is OK as it is unchanged.

When you finish entering all, click "Continue" in the red frame.


3, Enter secret answer
We create a total of four secret answers.
Be sure to save this as well as creating a GCKEY account.

Please use secret answer questions in English letters and lowercase letters and uppercase letters unified.

There is no problem if it saves everything, but it may not be possible to log in if you do not unify.
The same answer can not be used, so be sure to enter a different answer.

When you finish entering all, click "Continue" in the red frame.


4, Confirm account status
After registering GCKEY and MYCIC accounts, we will move on to the management screen.
Please confirm that there is no mistake in the information entered here.

In addition, you can also change the secret answer or e-mail address entered here.
If you enter a wrong email address, you can change it by clicking "Uplode" after entering the correct address.

In addition, since linking work with eTA number (electronic travel number) is done from this screen, click "Link application to this account" and do the work of linking with travel authorization number which is eTA number.

It would be easier for people who printed out account information, GCKEY · MYCIC account, e-mail address when applying for eTA, etc. and saved it.

Next, let's check the top page of MYCIC account.


5. Link your MYCIC Account & eTA Number
Since there is an item "Link application to this account" in the middle part from the top page, please click there.

Going to the next page, there is an item "Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)" in the selection item (Category) on the Link application to this account page, so select that.
After choosing, I will enter and select necessary items described in the image.
※ Since birthday and passport issue / expiration date are easy to make mistakes, please do not mistake the input.
After completing the input, click "Serch for my application" to complete the linking process.



When you return to the top page of MYCIC account, the material required in the column of "View my submitted applications or profiles" at the bottom of the page is reflected.
You can upload the file by clicking on the part where the necessary material is stated. Please select the file there and press the Upload File button.
Please note that a 7 CAD dollar fee will be charged again for the upload of the document, so you may need a credit card. Please press the Transmit button on the next screen.
The following message should appear on your screen:
